Yogurt Cottony Cake

 I always curious with cake that have yogurt in the ingredients, it looks like japanese cheese cake because it is cottony type of cake. I like this kind of cake so much. so i give it a try using vivian phang kitchen recipe. Its taste good with slightly sour taste for me, but i ask my family do you taste a lil bit sour taste, they say not. its good.


Yogurt Cottony Cake

Use 18 cm round baking pan
Ingredients
(A)
5 yolks
1 whole egg
45g vegetable oil
80g yogurt
65g low protein flour
(B)
5 egg whites
60g castor sugar
1/2 tsp lemon juice

How to make
  1. Whisk yolks and castor sugar till well combine. Add in vegetable oil and yogurt. Mix well. Sift in the flour and whisk to combine.
  2. In other bowl beat the whites till foamy. Add in 1/2 the castor sugar and vinegar. Continue beat till glossy. Add in the rest of castor sugar. Beat till stiff form.
  3. Spoon 1/3 of the stiff whites into yolks batter. Fold to combine. Pour the yolk mixture into the remaining whites bowl. Fold till well combine.
  4. Pour the batter into lined 18cm round pan (only line the bottom/base pan NOT side). Smooth the surface with scraper. Give the pan some tap to remove big bubbles.
  5. Bake in preheated oven at 170C with steam bake method (Bake by placing a pan with hot water at the bottom of oven) for 35 minutes. Then remove the water and bake further 10 minutes.
  6. Once cooked, remove from oven and invert the cake pan on wire rack till cool completely. Remove baking paper and cut into slices. Enjoy!

Pizza Cake


How does it taste three layers pizza in one slice of pizza. Its completely yummy. while seeing pepperoni pizza cake in Pillsbury website,it is truly make me droll, curious and absolutely want to make a try for this pizza cake recipe. Too bad, i cant find pepperoni in nearby supermarket so i change it with chicken sausage and i do make slightly modification to this pizza cake.

My own pizza cake, first layer only contain tomato pizza sauce, red sweet peppers and shredded mozzarella cheese, while layers two contain cheesy sauce and shredded mozzarella cheese. Just for the last layers I put tomato pizza sauce,red sweet peppers, shredded mozzarella cheese and chicken sausage. it is wow, but a lil bit too salty, should make correction to the tomato sauce while the cheesy sauce is already salty.



Pizza cake

Ingredients
1 1/3 pizza dough recipe from here
1 pcs chicken sausage, slice
3 tbsp chopped sweet red peppers
Easy Pizza sauce ( 2tbsp spaghetti sauce + 4 tbsp ketchup)
Mozarella cheese as much as you liked, shredded

*Cheesy sauce
1 tbsp margarine
1.5 tbsp all purpose flour
25 gr cheddar cheese, shredded
125 ml fresh milk
1/8 sdt nutmeg
salt and peppers to taste
How to:
Melt margarine in a saucepan. add the flour, stir for awhile, then add in fresh milk and cheese, stir till become thick sauce, add seasoning and taste it. Let it cool.

Assemble the pizza cake:
  1. Line your 16 cm round removable baking pan with baking paper
  2. Roll the dough into 0.5cm thickness, use 16cm round ring cut the dough into 3 pcs of round dough and bake for 8 minutes in 200C
  3. Use the rest of dough, roll it into about 9x30cm dough. Carefully drape long strip of dough around inside edge of pan to line, leaving 1/2 inch hanging over outside edge of pan and bottom of pan open. Pinch seam to seal.
  4. Place one baked dough in bottom of pan, spread the tomato sauce, sweet red peppers and shredded mozzarella cheese.
  5. Place another one baked dough to form layers two, spread the cheesy sauce and mozzarella cheese.
  6. Place the last bake dough, spread the tomato sauce, chicken sausage and shredded mozzarella cheese.
  7. Fold overhanging dough over top layer of pizza cake to make a raised crust edge.
  8. Bake at oven 180C for 20-25 minutes.
  9. Enjoy it.

Banana Chiffon Cake


I always want to try making cake with banana as the main ingredients. i browsing some recipe and found many recipe with banana, mostly is banana bread or banana cake which is more 'heavy' like butter cake. I think i will like it but not my family they are very picky with cake. if they dont like it who help me finish the whole pan of cake.

I continued my surfing to many food blog and find christine recipe for banana chiffon cake. I just direclty fall in love with this cake. look so pretty and yummy. Chiffon cake is my family favorite cake, because it is so soft and fluffy. I don't hesitate to try baked this banana chiffon cake. I doubled the recipe as the chiffon pan i have is 20cm (bottom) and do slightly modification, the result is big woww.. my tallest and prettiest chiffon cake ever. Love it so much..


Banana Chiffon Cake

20 cm chiffon pan

Ingredients
160 gr cake flour
7 egg yolks
30 gr caster sugar
70 gr vegetable oil
90 gr milk
1/4 tsp salt
4 ripe bananas, about 480 gr (i used 5-6 pisang barangan)

7 egg whites
80 gm caster sugar
1/2 tsp cream of tartar

Method
  1. Preheat oven to 165C (330F). Use a small food processor to process the bananas into paste. Set aside.
  2. Mix the egg yolks with 14 grams of sugar until smooth. Add oil, milk and mashed bananas. Combine very well. Sift in cake flour, incorporate all ingredients well until you get a smooth batter.
  3. Use an electric mixer to beat egg whites first for a while until bubbles form. Add cream of tartar. Add one third of the 40 grams of sugar at a time. Combine well between the adds, until stiff peaks form. 
  4. Fold in the egg whites into the batter. Add one third of egg whites at a time in order to easily incorporate the egg whites  then fold in the rest.
  5. Transfer the batter into the cake mould that shouldn’t be non-stick or greased.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven and bake for 55 to 60 minutes. Test it by an inserted needle coming out clean. Remove from oven and immediately revert the cake mould upside down on a wire rack. Let it cool completely. Carefully remove from the cake mould.

4 type spaghetti in One Plate

This is my lil bro idea, he said , we can eat 4 type of spaghetti in one plate and make it colorful. I think it was a good idea, so i am thinking how many kind spaghetti sauce can i make and acceptable for us. after that i decide to make :
1. Marinara sauce spaghetti ( Grilled Chicken Breast as topping)
2. Bolognaise with meatballs spaghetti
3. Alfredo sauce spaghetti ( chicken frankfurter as topping)
4. Aglio e olio spaghetti (shrimp as topping)


We all enjoy the dinner although the prepared session is so busy, i need to keep all food warm, But, it nice you can eat many kind of spaghetti at one.
